Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains
Shenandoah river -
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Blowing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All my memories gathered round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine
Teardrop in my eye

                 District Governor Mitzi Ellis  2007-2008

Mitzi is proud to claim Dunbar, West Virginia as her hometown.  She graduated from West Virginia University in 1975 with a degree in Sociology.  She met her husband Steve while attending WVU and they have been married over 30 years.  On the District level, Mitzi has served a two-year term as Assistant Governor for the eight Rotary clubs in Greensboro. She also chaired the centennial project for the Greensboro clubs which involved raising more than $80,000 to build a playground at the new baseball stadium in downtown Greensboro. She also coordinated the district centennial luncheon on February 23, 2005 with over 900 Rotarians and guests in attendance.  Welcome District Governor Mitzi Ellis!
